YBA Summer Workshops

Week one out of six concluded today. Nine kids between the ages of 10-15, played TV and had a blast. What they did not notice is just how much they learned. Imagine having a fabulous time while learning to communicate with ease, confidence and poise. That is only part of skills gained at Young Broadcasters of America.

It still amazes me how the weeks shape up based on the participants interests. Whether it is sports, news, entertainment or video games, talking on camera and then watching it with the group is always an incredible experience. In just a weeks time, many of these kids have made new friends and had the opportunity to create a show that aired live on the Internet. The YBA training studio is as close as it gets to a real TV studio.

Who knows, maybe we have met future sportscasters or entertainment reporters. What we do know is; whatever path these kids choose in life, the skills, lessons in oral communication and thrill of live TV production, will serve them well.

It was a fantastic week at YBA. Just ask the kids who now know, “Who’s on first and I do not know is on third!”
